After the club doors close and you head back out into the wider world, that’s when sound system culture starts to come into its own. Under bridges, in streets, in someone’s front room or the backyard of a dive bar… it can take root virtually any place that you are.

It is a culture that is all about continuing the changes begun on the dancefloor: everywhere and anywhere, above and beyond. It is about taking the music out of the confines of a single venue to a place where it can transform anything.

A good soundsystem creates a portable universe made up of sights and sounds, feelings and faces, characters and attitudes, beliefs and ideals. It’s about memories of the past and visions of the future. It’s a microcosm of a scene that’s born of all of us, combined. And, at the very least, it’ll always be there the morning after for us to admire, add to and improve on.

Soundsystem Culture: On the Radical Roots of Rave will be a celebration of everyone who has ever gathered those ingredients of euphoria & sustained them, indefinitely. Not only that, but it will help others to create even more sonic bubbles which will carry the culture forward, one soundsystem at a time.

Through workshops and decoration and of course, a banging party, we invite you to step through that porous boundary of music and co-create the culture within it for a night… and keep it going for as long as the music feels right.
